City of Oakland, NE Planning Commission Meeting July 2nd , 2024, Proceedings A meeting of the Oakland Planning Commission was held on July 2nd, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. In the Rosen Room of the City Auditorium. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Cull. Planning commissioners in attendance were Darla Nelson and Jordan Swenson. Excused: Dan Tanksley III, Matt Johnson, and Jacob Schieffer. A quorum was established. Also, in attendance were Zoning Administrator Kayla Eisenmenger, Property Owner Jodi Guill, and JEO Consultant Jeff Ray. 1) At 6:37 pm Member Swenson made a motion to waive the three readings of the minutes of June 4th, 2024, minutes and to approve. Member Nelson seconded the motion. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. 2) At 6:39 pm Member Swenson made a motion to open the public hearing. A motion was seconded by Chairperson Cull. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Discussion of Conditional Use Permit for Lot 18 and PTLot17 and 19, Block 48, Hulbert’s Addition, Oakland, NE, Burt County, commonly known as 703 N. Thomas Ave. Member Swenson made a motion to close the public hearing. Motion was seconded by Chairperson Cull at 6:39 pm. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Motion was approved to recommend to the City Council the discussion of Conditional Use Permit for Lot18 and PTLot17 and 19, Block 48, Hulbert’s Addition, Oakland, NE, Burt County, commonly known as 703 N. Thomas Ave by Member Nelson. Motion was seconded by Chairperson Cull at 6:41. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. 3) At 6:46 pm Member Nelson made a motion to open the public hearing to any support of concerns regarding a Blight and Substandard Determination Study. Motion was seconded by Chairperson Cull. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 7:14pm Member Nelson made a motion to close public hearing to any support of concerns regarding a Blight and Substandard Determination Study. Motion was seconded by Member Swenson. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Motion was made by Member Nelson to approve recommendation for the City Council to move forward with the Blight and Substandard Determination Study. Motion was seconded by Member Swenson at 7:14pm. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. 4) Meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m. Motion was made by Member Nelson and seconded by Member Swenson.
