Village of Decatur Legal Notice BRO-7011(14) Broadway St. – Decatur; C.N. 32412 Village of Decatur is currently soliciting public input on the proposed replacement of a bridge. Identified as the Broadway St. – Decatur project, the proposed project would remove and replace the existing bridge located on Broadway Street over Elm Creek within the Village of Decatur in Burt County, Nebraska. The project would begin approximately 130 feet south of the Broadway Street and East 12th Street intersection and extend to approximately 80 feet south of the Broadway Street and East 13th Street intersection. Construction activities may extend beyond the project limits to accommodate roadway transitions. The purpose of this project is to improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public. The need for the project is based on the current quality and safety of the existing bridge. The proposed project would remove and replace the existing bridge (Structure No. M0700A3305). The new structure would be constructed on alignment and would consist of a multi-span concrete slab bridge. Roadway improvements would include widened travel lanes and shoulders north and south of the bridge, with curb and gutter installed on the north approach. Areas of the existing roadway and bridge would be removed upon completion of construction. Construction could begin as early as 2028, pending scheduling. The proposed project would require closing the bridge to traffic during construction. A designated detour would be provided for the duration of construction. The detour would direct traffic along 12th Street to U.S. Highway 75 (US-75). Access to adjacent properties would be maintained but may be limited at times due to traffic phasing requirements. The proposed project would require the acquisition of additional property rights, which could include new right-of-way (ROW), control of access (CA), permanent easements (PE), and/or temporary easements (TE). If your property is impacted by this project, you will be contacted by a representative once the design footprint has been established. Potential impacts to environmental resources would be evaluated as the proposed project design progresses. These resources include, but are not limited to civil rights, cultural resources, historic properties, publicly owned recreation properties (Section 4(f), endangered and threatened species, hazardous materials, water quality, and other water resources, including wetlands).
