The regular monthly meeting of the Oakland Heights Board of Directors convened in open and public session on January 18, 2026, in the Oakland Heights Conference Room. Notice of the meeting was made in advance thereof by posting in three places, one of the designated methods of giving notice. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernikau at 8:30 AM. A quorum was established with the presence of Randy Johnson, Dan Tanksley, Jr., Dee Peterson, and Elisabeth Linder. Also present was Administrator Joshua Yeutter. Old Business: No old business needed to be discussed. New Business began with the welcoming of a new board member, Dee Peterseon. New business then continued with the nomination and voting of Judy Schernikau as the board president, all ayes, no nays, motion carried, Dee Peterson as Vice President, all ayes, no nays, motion carried, and Dan Tanksley Jr., all ayes, no nays, motion carried. Discussion continued with a discussion of Administrator Josh Yeutter’s resignation letter. A motion was offered and a second was given to accept the resignation, with the last day being March 7, 2026. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. A thank you and best wishes were given to Administrator Yeutter. The Board will begin with a search for new leadership immediately, with an interim administrator in place if the need arises. A motion was then offered and seconded to exit the regular session and enter executive session. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. Executive session was entered at 9:15 AM. After the discussion, a motion was offered and seconded to exit the executive session. On roll call, all ayes, no nays, motion carried. Executive session was exited at 9:55 AM. Administrator candidates will be interviewed as quickly as they and the board can make arrangements to meet. The administrator then reassured the board that all operating licenses will be applied for renewal before the end of his notice. The board reviewed current staffing levels and needs. We are hiring a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, full-time or part-time RN/LPN for evening and overnight shifts, full-time and part-time CMA for evening and night shifts for ALF, and part-time or full-time CNA/CMA for the SNF for evening and overnight shifts. There were no COVID-positive residents or staff during January / February. Census is at 37 at Oakland Heights and 20 currently in the Assisted Living. Incident summaries were reviewed, financials were distributed, and warrants were submitted for payment. A motion was offered and seconded to pay the warrants as submitted.
