The Board of Education of the Lyons-Decatur School District No. 20 met in regular session on Monday, September 8, 2025. Present were Archer, Bacon, Brehmer, Christiansen, Miller, Myers, Petersen, Troutman, and Vlach. Lisa Christiansen opened the meeting at 7:33 p.m. Superintendent Report: The NASB area membership meeting will be held in Fremont on Wednesday, September 24th. The NASB state conference will be held November 19th – 21st in Omaha. We have 14 students taking classes through P2T in West Point this year. We currently have 312 students enrolled in the district. LDNE will be on our own for JH football for the 2026 season. We will be hosting district One Acts on Wednesday, December 3rd; our students will not have school that day, teachers will report to help work and for PD. We surveyed our families about moving graduation to Saturday starting in 2027, 89% of the people that responded are in favor of the change. Principal Report: Professional development the last month was spent on reading, literacy, and safety. Activities and events are happening throughout the district – please check the website and social media sites for the latest happenings. The following motions were made: 1. To approve the consent agenda. 2. To approve the 2025-2026 school district budget, as presented. 3. To approve the 2025-2026 tax request resolution. 4. To approve the purchase of a skid loader from Murphy Tractor. There is a P2T board meeting on Monday, September 15th at 6:30 p.m. in West Point.
