Oakland Heights Board of Directors Monthly Meeting June 17, 2026 The Oakland Heights Board of Directors met in open and public session in the Oakland Heights Conference room. The meeting was called to order by President Judy Schernikau at 8:30 AM. Advance notice of the meeting was made thereof by posting in three places, one of the designated methods for giving advance notice. A quorum was established with the presence of Elisabeth Linder, Dee Peterson, and Dan Tanksley Jr. Randy Johnson was absent and excused. Also present were Administrator Tami Klinedinst and Karen Nelson, the Business Office manager. The minutes of the May 20, 2026 meeting were approved as distributed. OLD BUSINESS New clothes washing machine is installed and working properly. The PointClick Care computer records program is scheduled to go live on July 1. Time is needed to acclimate users to the multiple facets of the program with the aim of efficiency in record management. Roxanne Lundquist has completed her first year of service to Oakland Heights as Director of Nursing. Thank you for your dedication to US and your profession. A motion was offered by Dee Peterson with a second from Judy Schernikau to increase the base salary. On roll call all ayes, no nays; motion carried. An annual performance payment for D.O.N. is under review by the Board and Administration. NEW BUSINESS A room rate adjustment is needed to comply with Medicaid rate outlines. A motion was offered by Judy Schernikau with a second from Elisabeth Linder to adopt adjusted room rates. On roll call all ayes, no nays; motion carried. A letter of information will be presented to residents and/or family members, as appropriate, with the new room rates. A job description for the Medical Records Coordinator is part of the Board packet for this meeting. After board review,a motion was offered by Elisabeth Linder with a second from Dee Peterson to adopt the Job Description as reviewed. On roll call all ayes, no nays; motion carried. An effort by staff to shuffle people and materials has produced an office space for the coordinator as well as office space for other departments to continue their work. An inspection by the maintenance director has uncovered a problem with specific exit door frames. Improvements such as latch devices and automatic openers are available with the new doors. A motion was offered by Dan Tanklsey Jr., with a second from Dee Peterson, to accept the estimate of $13,000 for door work. The estimate does not include other building repairs or adjustments that could be a part of the door project. On roll call all ayes, no nays; motion carried. Oakland Heights remains a 5-STAR facility ***** Skilled Facility has averaged 38 residents Assisted living averaged 19 residents QAPI Quality measures and processes are main focus: falls,hospitalizations and rehospitalizations, UTI, fit testing for masks, continuing education and staff solutions meetings when needed, PCC planning and implementation. HELP NEEDED: RN,LPN,CNA Incident summaries were reviewed, financials distributed, and warrants submitted for payment. A motion was offered by Elisabeth Linder with a second from Dan Tanksley Jr to pay warrants as presented. On roll call all ayes no nays; motion carried.
