Minutes of Village Board Meeting Village of Craig, NE. Regular Meeting March 11, 2026 A regular monthly meeting of the Chairperson and Board of Trustees of the Village of Craig, Nebraska was convened in open and public session at 7:00 P.M., on March 11, 2026, at the Craig Fire Hall. The meeting was called to order by Board Chair, Susan Skinner. Roll call found the following Board of Trustee members present, i.e., Jean Meyer, Roxy Sachs, Susan Skinner, and Steve Nelson. Also present was Barbara J. Hill, Village Clerk. Absent was Mike Uhing. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by the posting of a notice, by one of the designated methods of giving notice, as shown by the certification of posting attached to these minutes. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the notice to the Board Chair and Village Board. All present members signed the notice of meeting form and acceptance of the agenda. Skinner established a quorum. A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Nelson and seconded by Meyer. All present voted AYE. Items included in consent agenda: March 11th, 2026 agenda, February, 2026 minutes and February, 2026 claims. PARTIES PRESENT TO ADDRESS THE TRUSTEES: Robin Burton, Volunteer ball coach attended the meeting to talk about the possibility of putting up a batting cage at the park by the ball field. COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Water and Maintenance: Meyer reported on the price of the Storm Culvert 18x30' (2) and bands. Motion made by Sachs and seconded by Nelson to go ahead and purchase what is needed from Glup Pipe Sales. All present voted Aye. Meyer also visited about a building or structure for the Village of Craig to store all of their equipment. Motion by Nelson, seconded by Meyer to go ahead with this plan. All present voted Aye. Meyer reported on cost of filters to be used reference the water. Visited about the replacement on the mower. Two quotes were given to the Board. Batteries in the storm siren are O.K. Cass is to get back with Bart in May about replacing the gate valves and helping replace water meters. COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Clerk/Treasurer: Motion was made by Sachs and seconded by Meyer to change the monthly meeting to the second Wednesday of the month. All present voted Aye. Our Village Attorney has been contacted to see about an Ordinance for the Village restricting having dog kennels or raising litters in the Village. Noting that all dogs have to be licensed and have their rabies shots or they will be picked up. Nelson made a motion and seconded by Sachs to have Nelson Construction remove the sidewalk along the buildings that have been demolished on main street. COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT REPORTS: Ordinance Officer: Hill stated that there are about five abatements in the Village that need to be done. He is going to try to work with the owners so it will not be so costly for the Village. BOARD MEMBERS AND COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT REPORTSĀ· The 1 acre lot in the Southeast corner of Craig that belongs to Craig was discussed. This is being farmed by the Eriksen family. Maybe can trade with the Eriksen family so Industrial zoning can be extended. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None ITEMS APPROVED: As shown within these minutes.
