City of Oakland, NE Planning Commission Meeting September 3rd, 2024, Proceedings A meeting of the Oakland Planning Commission was held on September 3rd, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. In the Rosen Room of the City Auditorium. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Todd Cull. Planning commissioners in attendance were Dan Tanksley III, Matt Johnson, and Jason Beckstrom. Excused: Darla Nelson and Jordan Swenson. A quorum was established. Also, in attendance were Zoning Administrator Kayla Eisenmenger. 1) At 6:37 pm Member Johnson made a motion to waive the three readings of the minutes of July 2nd, 2024, minutes and to approve. Member Tanksley III seconded the motion. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. 2) At 6:38 pm Member Tanksley III made a motion to open the public hearing. A motion was seconded by Member Beckstrom. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. Discussion of public comment regarding the proposed annexation of the following properties into the City, to wit: Johnson Subdivision. No public was present to give any comment. Planning Commission discussed why the proposed annexation which is related to the water project. At 6:56 pm Member Johnson made a motion to close the public hearing. Motion was seconded by Member Beckstrom. All planning commissioners present voted Aye. At 6:57 pm Member Johnson made a motion to approve the recommendation of Ordinance 758 “AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA, ANNEXING A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER, SECTION 31, TOWNSHIP 22 NORTH, RANGE 9 EAST OF THE 6TH P.M., BURT COUNTY, NEBRASKA, KNOWN AS “JOHNSON SUBDIVISION”; EXTENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY; FURNISHING CITY BENEFITS TO THE LANDS SO ANNEXED; APPLYING CITY ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS TO THE LANDS SO ANNEXED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.” to the City Council. Motion was seconded by Member Tanksley III. All Planning Commissioner present voted Aye. 3) Meeting adjourned at 6:57 p.m. Motion was made by Member Nelson and seconded by Member Swenson.
