City of Oakland Council Proceedings April 21st, 2025 Regular Council Meeting On April 21st, 2025, the governing body met for a Regular Meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Oakland, Nebraska, which was held at the Municipal Building, 401 North Oakland Avenue in Oakland, Nebraska. The public had been advised of the meeting by the publication of notice in Oakland Independent as well as three public places: City Auditorium, Post Office, and First NE Bank of Nebraska. Mayor Dan Jacobs started the meeting at 7:00 p.m. with Roll Call. Council President Nathan Anderson, Council Member Jeremiah Johansen, Council Member Scott Swenson. and Council Member Amy Denker-Rost were all in attendance. At 7:19pm Council President Anderson made a motion to approve the process to move forward with amending the current "Blight and Substandard" boundaries within Oakland. At 7:19pm Council President Anderson made a motion to approve Kyle & Tiffany Lechtenberg to make all additional cost pertaining to the amending of the "Blight & Substandard " study project. At 7:25pm Council Member Swenson made a motion to purchase the 2023 Charger for $25,000 from MO State Patrol. Motion was seconded by Council President Anderson. At 7:38 pm Council Member Swenson made a motion to approve waiving the rental fee for the Community Vacation Bible School. Motion was seconded by Council Member Denker-Rost. At 8:05pm Council Member Johansen made a motion to approve an extension of time of September 1st, 2025, for re-scoring of LOTS 4 AND 5, BLOCK F, ORIGINAL TOWN, CITY OF OAKLAND, BURT COUNTY, NEBRASKA. At 8:08pm Council President Anderson made a motion to approve extension of May 19th, 2025, for re-scoring of PARTS OF LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK 42, NELSONS ADDITION, CITY OF OAKLAND, BURT COUNTY, NEBRASKA. At 8:11pm Council Member Johansen made a motion to shelf Medicare reimbursement for Street Department Employee Mike Francis in the amount of $226.27 per month starting June 2025. At 8:13pm Council Member Johansen made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 766 "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, NEBRASKA, ESTABLISHING SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FEES PURSUANT TO SECTION 7-401 OF THE OAKLAND MUNICIPAL CODE; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND SECTIONS THEREOF; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
